The Many Disasters of the Backdoor Government

Truly a ticking time bomb!

With the so many FB Live announcements these days, I chose to purposely skip the one by IGP yesterday. Hours later, when I decided to catch up on the PDRM’s FB page, I was not only annoyed at his comment to fellow journalists “Ada siapa-siapa yang nak tulis negatif?”, followed by a smirk – but I was also shocked at the level of nonchalance of the IGP in handling a national crisis.

First of all, it’s rare for a Chief of Police to smile on screen. But nevermind, this is Malaysia.
Second of all, the Covid-19 virus that has invaded our land is NOT FUNNY at all. Whilst we are still grappling with the sudden change of unwanted government, the economy ebbing away, and then now, this deadly virus! Nobody is laughing or joking anymore, IGP.

Third of all, the authorities, when issuing orders, are not even able to co-ordinate amongst themselves. Decisions made are not thought through. Looks like working in Silos is the order of the day for relevant ministries and agencies. Needless to mention, a proper communication flow downwards to the Rakyat.

FURTHERMORE.
1)How is it possible that KSN, the Fall Guy, “forgot” to invite five Leaders in the Opposition States to attend a very important meeting on Covid-19, with the PM yesterday. By the way, nobody wants to read his apologetic statement. Damage is already done.

2)How is it possible that the PM still went ahead with the meeting, knowing that Selangor has recorded the highest number of cases – and yet the Chief was not even present at the meeting? This is not making sense at all.

3)How is it possible that the Police ordered a Restriction of Movements between States, and yet, everyone forgot about the students who were told to vacate the hostels? And when they queued up at the Police Stations to go back to a shelter, PDRM pulled back on their earlier statements, sent them away, and how are told to wait for next announcement.
Really????? What new level of kelam-kabutness have we unlocked?

More importantly, the newly minted Ministers – where are they, and why are they just singing the SILENT SONG altogether?

I ask the Rina Haruns, I ask the Reezal Mericans, and the Hamzah Zainuddins of the world. So you get a top job in Putrajaya, the Congratulatory Dinner Party with Vincent Tan is over and then what’s next, Yang Berhormats?

We’ve also already heard how brashly Wee Ka Siong spoke about how he doesn’t want the current government to be labelled as a purely Malay Muslim government – but what we want to hear is what is he doing as the Minister of Transport?

What is his role in blocking the movements? Hello, Ka Siong? Where art thou?

Good that you all just got miraculously hoodwinked into your new portfolio Putrajaya. But a bigger question beckons - For how long more?

If you cannot serve the People as we expect you to, especially during dire times like this, please do not dream of holding on to your seats. Before you know it, you will be gone from the radar.

The hashtag #kitajagakita is now trending on Twitter. In short, it literally means that we the Rakyat, are compelled to look ourselves.

Thank God for the doctors and nurses who are working non-stop, for Sebenarnya.my and Majlis Keselamatan Negara who are keeping us updated every single minute.

For we now know, we cannot depend on Backdoor Government.

Jom #Kitajagakita.

So, help us God!
